Environmental Awareness of Farmers vs. Agricultural Sustainability

Purpose: Modern agriculture aims at sustainable management, i.e., stable and, simultaneously, economically viable and socially acceptable production, without endangering the environment. The aim of this paper was to evaluate ecological awareness pro-environmental attitudes among farmers managing agricultural holdings located in Wielkopolskie Voivodship. Methodology: source empirical material comprised a pilot survey conducted 383 Wielkopolska. measuring method consisted direct interview, using standardized questionnaire. questions were provided rank scale method, as well Likert scale. collected information analysed subsequently characterised descriptive statistics methods. study from November 2018 April 2019, both electronically through contact with farmers. Findings: concludes that large number surveyed declared knowledge Good Agricultural Practices (73%) Principle Cross-compliance (67%). majority producers Wielkopolska (56%) convinced negative impact conventional their activities on indicated willingness undertake pro-ecological measures holdings.
